Accessing Telcoin Adiri Testnet

Adiri is the public testnet for Telcoin Network. It runs the same technology as the main network, but its tokens have no real value, so anyone can try things out safely and for free.

Use Adiri to:

  • See how Telcoin Network works before mainnet
  • Practise sending transactions without risking real funds
  • Build and test apps and smart contracts
  • Help stress-test the network as it grows

All you need is a browser wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby. Setup takes about five minutes.

Step 1: Add Adiri to your wallet

We recommend creating a new account in your wallet just for testnet use, kept separate from any account holding real funds.

MetaMask

  1. Open MetaMask and click the network selector at the top.
  2. Click Add a custom network.
  3. Enter the details from the table above: network name, RPC URL, chain ID, currency symbol, and block explorer.
  4. Click Save, then switch to Telcoin Adiri Testnet.

Rabby

  1. Open Rabby and go to More, then Add Custom Network.
  2. Enter the same details and save.
  3. Rabby switches networks automatically when you visit a site that uses Adiri.

The exact menu names can vary slightly between wallet versions. If you can't find the option, look for "Networks" or "Custom network" in your wallet's settings.

Step 2: Get test tokens from the faucet

You need testnet TEL to pay gas on Adiri. The faucet gives it out for free.

  1. Copy your testnet wallet address.
  2. Go to the Telcoin Network faucet.
  3. Paste your address, choose a token, and request it.
  4. Check your wallet. The tokens should appear within a few seconds.

Each token on the faucet can be claimed once every 24 hours. If you need more for testing, come back the next day.

Step 3: Make your first transaction

The easiest way to see Adiri in action is to send a little testnet TEL.

  1. In your wallet, make sure Telcoin Adiri Testnet is selected.
  2. Click Send and enter another address you control, or a friend's testnet address.
  3. Enter a small amount, such as 1 TEL, and confirm.
  4. Open the transaction in your wallet's activity list and click through to the block explorer, or paste the transaction hash into telscan.xyz.

You'll notice the transaction is final almost immediately. On Telcoin Network, committed blocks are never reversed, so there's no waiting for extra confirmations. Telscan.xyz also shows each transaction's status as it moves through the network.

Testnet vs mainnet: staying safe

  • Testnet tokens have no value. They can't be sold, swapped for real TEL, or redeemed. Anyone offering to buy or sell testnet tokens is running a scam.
  • Keep testnet and real funds apart. Use a dedicated testnet account, and never reuse a testnet private key or recovery phrase for real funds.
  • Check which network you're on. Before confirming any transaction, make sure your wallet shows Telcoin Adiri Testnet when you mean to use testnet, and your main network when you mean to use real funds.
  • Expect change. Adiri is where new features are tested, so it may be upgraded as Telcoin Network develops.
  • Use official links. Only use the faucet and explorer links on this page, and ignore direct messages offering testnet rewards or airdrops.

Troubleshooting

Problem

What to try

Wallet says the chain ID doesn't match

Check you entered 2017 and the RPC URL exactly as shown, with no extra spaces or trailing slash

Faucet won't send tokens

You may have already claimed that token in the last 24 hours. Try again later

Tokens arrived but don't show in your wallet

Make sure Adiri is the selected network. For tokens other than TEL, you may need to import the token in your wallet

Transaction fails or won't send

Check you have enough testnet TEL to cover gas

Wallet can't connect to the network

Remove the network, add it again with the details above, and retry
